The Night They Shot Santa

Nightly Recon Report:

Commando Team : Delta Bravo 4 (Dancer, Donder, Blitzen and Comet)
Location: MCDS - Abandon Reindeer Barn
Subject: Elven Intruder

02:00 Hours
Team leaves HQ under the command of Major Dancer. Flies routine patrol over HQ, utilizing night vision equipment and parabolic listening gear. All quiet. Grounds show no sign of intruders.

03:00 Hours
Team flies standard search grid covering 15 square miles around HQ. All Quiet.

03:30 Hours
Team meets with Whitey DeBear, a polar bear informer who is known to be friendly to the cause of the revolution. DeBear has being keeping track of a nightly intruder to the MCDS Reindeer barn for the past three nights. According to DeBear, there has been an elf who visits each of the last three nights.

The elf has been staying about 6 hours, till right before sun-up and appears to be hiding.

On two of the three occasions, DeBear reports that MCDS security people have also been seen entering, and apparently searching the barn. DeBear is under the impression that they didn't find the elf and that they came away empty handed.

According to DeBear, said elf is currently located in the barn in the upper hay loft storage area.

As per our previous agreement, Informer Whitey DeBear was paid off with 2 six packs of Coca-Cola (in bottles) and has agreed to continue watching.

Delta Bravo 4 Commando team, per orders of Major Dancer, has decided to investigate.

4:22 Hours
Delta Bravo 4 team arrives in the area of the MCDS barn. Area appears to be quiet, but there are recent foot prints in the new show. They lead only one way, to the barn. Major Dancer orders a fly by recon and the barn appears empty. Donder and Blitzen land on the roof in full-stealth mode. Using the q-mark 2 listening device supplied by HQ, someone can be heard in the hayloft area right below the roof.

4:27 Hours
Team synchronizes watches for 4:30 "GO" window.

Team members Comet and Blitzen enters barn under full stealth protocols and utilizing night vision gear, in heat seaking mode. Donder, on roof with Dancer, picks the lock on the hay-loading window on the side of the building, removing the lock from the hasp and setting the door just the tiniest bit ajar for easy access.

4:30 Hours
In a synchronized assault, Delta Bravo 4 team swarms the hay loft from all sides and pulls a young, freezing elf from beneath a pile of hay. Just then, the team heard voices in the lower part of the barn and the lights came on.
